“Aisling Arts' Force trilogy is the best
new American play of the season so far; I haven't been this caught up in or
affected by a piece of theatre since Angels in
America.” (Martin Denton, NYTheatre.com Click here to listen to the NYTHEATRE.COM Podcast about
FORCE Hosted by Robin Reed.)

has now closed. Thank you to everyone who so generously supported our work.
We has an amazing time and hope you all did too.
We’re taking a few months off to celebrate the arrival of Wendy & Micah’s
daughter, Samirah Rose, who was born exactly one week after we closed
(2/24/07) and Bryn & Sam’s wedding (5/26/07). We promise more theater and
a few exciting format explorations in 2008. In the meantime, thank you thank
you thank you. (Aisling Arts, March 2007) Force is one play in
three movements: Wanderlust, Threshold, and Convergence. The
three individual plays
were presented to be seen independently or in succession. Told
on an epic scale through dreams, travel, memories and magic realism, Force
dissects the idea that man is as capable as nature of creating stupendous
beauty and awesome destruction. The trilogy juxtaposes quiet details,
breakable moments and subtle miracles with the fury of warfare and weather
systems through a rapid succession of inter-related, profoundly intimate
stories. In a world of tornadoes and terrorism, volcanoes
and vanishings, memories and the mundane, Force asks us who
will we be when faced with all we cannot control? Force is Aisling Arts first foray into large scale
story-telling. We have developed the
plays for three years. The final product is one we believe to be timely,
relevant, exhilarating theater full of ideas and curiosity. Though you can see the plays piecemeal,
they are intended to be seen in their entirety as a full day experience beginning at 2PM
on Saturdays (Wanderlust 2PM, Threshold 4:30PM, Dinner break at 6PM,
Convergence 8PM) January 27, February 3, February 10 and February 17th
and Sunday, January 28th.
Please join us for this thrilling theatrical event! |
