seemingly unrelated individuals go about their everyday life. A former war
reporter, now professor, questions the value of his now secure life; a
cartographer yearns to overcome his fear of flying while his amnesiac brother
fixes cars and tries to reconstruct his past; a woman wishes to become a
mother and another wishes she never was one. And one young woman desperately
bent on escaping her past, drives and drives and drives until she drives
directly into their lives. Memory and place collide with secrets and
admissions to reveal to each of these people how deeply they wish to be
elsewhere. But how can they possibly escape who they are when their
identities are so entwined with their daily lives? How strong a force is
